Why are you hitting your alarm clock? Are you trying to start a fight first thing in the morning? Are struggling with getting up in the morning? Do you hit the snooze button over an over again? You are not alone. I struggle for sure. But every time I have hit the snooze button, I feel worst than if I had just gotten out of bed in the first place.

Studies show that when you hit the snooze button your body does not allow you to get back into that deep sleep where you feel refreshed. Think about it. You are literally torturing yourself by going back to “sleep” for five to ten minutes only to be woken up again, and again, and again. After all, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is insanity. You may feel groggy as you peel yourself out of bed while you try to figure out a way to make up for the time you missed by hitting the snooze button. Then starts the the downward spiral of the “negative self talk” of all the things that you could have accomplished if you had just gotten up on time. What about getting stressed because you are late for work and hitting every red light on the way. Or forgetting an important detail because you were rushing out the door? Unnecessary stress right? Have you been there? It all started with hitting snooze! Crazy to think, right? Stop hitting the snooze button.

I aim to wake up between 5-5:30 a.m. every morning. But in all honesty, it has been hard for me lately. So what did I do? I begin the night before with evening affirmations to set me up for a positive mindset the next morning. By morning when my alarm goes off, I am already thinking positive! Then, to help me get my brain going, I have a bottle of R.C. Essential Oil  by my bedside. R.C. essential oil blend includes essential oils of Eucalpytus globulus, Myrtus communis, Origamum majorana, Pinus sylvestris, Eucalyptus radiata, Eucalyptus citriodora, Lavendula angustifolia, Cupressus sempervirens, Picea mariana, and Mentha piperita.  I put my alarm clock far away so I have to get out of bed to turn it off and then I open my bottle of R.C. Essential Oil and take a few DEEP breaths. In a matter of 20-30 seconds I am feeling alert and ready to start my day. Why? Because the small molecules from the essential oil travel through the nose, past the blood brain barrier, into the limbic system. The unique blend of multiple species of eucalyptus and peppermint helps to stimulate the brain and respiratory system to get that oxygen flowing to the brain.

After I get my brain pumped, I rub some R.C. Essential Oil on my chest, I put on my workout clothes, and start my daily workout routine.  R.C. essential oil is also good to diffuse during workouts and you can apply it with a carrier oil post workout for muscle recovery. AND (yes, there is more) it helps support the respiratory system especially through those rough seasonal . Those are just a few of the many ways you can use RC in your daily routine.

As a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist, I am always looking for natural, simple, quick, and effective ways to feel my best and to educate my clients to feel their best too! I LOVE how I can use one powerful and versatile essential oil blend for so many things. And with the Young Living Seed to Seal Promise, I feel good about what I am inhaling and putting into my body and what I am recommending to my clients.  And most of all, I feel safe using them for my family.
