You’ve got mold. Yep, you do. According to the CDC, there is always some mold and it’s everywhere – in the air and on many surfaces. Molds have been living on Earth for millions of years- way before people populated the planet, and they have survived that long because of one thing and one thing only.
Moisture! Mold grows where there is moisture. Where in your home might you find moisture?
Researchers at the University of Arizona decided to test the hypothesis that every house has mold, at least a little bit.
They went to 6 different cities across the United States; Chicago, Atlanta, NY, Tucson, Dallas, and Tampa and what they found did not surprise them. The homeowners, maybe. One hundred percent of the homes tested positive for mold.
The most common places mold is found is in the shower, under the kitchen sink on windowsills and in your refrigerator. Yuck!
This Center for Disease Control article that gives some basic information that you might want to check out!
That CDC article links to a paper written by the World Health Organization that is quite thorough. Warning… it’s a bit long. Which is the understatement of the year but worth glancing through, especially if you or someone in your household who is otherwise healthy is suffering from upper respiratory tract symptoms like coughing and wheezing.
However, in my (read more about me here) latest training, I give you all of the information you need to know about mold and how to get rid of it! Watch the training here.
Breathe cleanly!
