Individually, we are a drop. Together, we are an ocean.

Your people are your biggest asset. Looking after their health and wellbeing will make a big difference to your organization’s financial performance. And if you support your teams rather than only individuals you will experience the power of the multiplier: Humans are social animals and teams are so much more powerful in making changes happen. The impact of change will be bigger when a team works together!

Wellbeing is a wonderful concept and I know after years of working with my clients that it works: Eat well, live well and everything will fall into place: physical and mental wellbeing, a calmer mind and better focus, a healthier body, and a better performing brain.

But then life happens. You are busy, take your health and well-being for granted, and don’t make time for yourself. You may act a bit like a frog in hot water:

If you drop a frog in hot water, it will jump out and save his life. Because it experiences an immediate threat which is followed by an immediate reaction. But if you put the frog in cold water and slowly increase the temperature, the poor thing will boil to death.

If you would experience an immediate consequence of eating a donut, you would certainly reach for an apple. But because the effects will only be seen in 20 years or so, it’s likely that you will ignore them. I hear it a lot: ‘I’m fine, why should I change anything?’

And this is not only about your team – this will make a big difference to your business, too. Healthy and happy people make better decisions. Teams that look after each other and support each other, are more productive and more focused. Sick rates will go down, your business is able to retain staff and attract talent – if your team is well, it will bring your business forward!

Making changes to your way of eating and living is the single most important step you can take for increased mental and physical health. We tend to deal with the symptoms of ill health both mentally and physically, but it’s time to address the systemic causes and focus on being proactive rather than reactive. Prevention is always better than cure!

And if you have a team by your side, you will become unstoppable. Because your collective action is key to your success. If you are successful, your team will be successful. And if your team is successful, your company’s bottom line will be better!

Bill McDermott, then CEO of SAP said: ‘The physical and mental wellness of our team is paramount. If our people don’t take care of their health, ultimately everything else suffers.’ With this view, he increased SAP’s market value from $39billion to $156billion. Now that’s what I call an impact on the bottom line!

How does it work:
  1. Let’s identify the topics which are most important to you: are your teams struggling with low energy, stress, mental well-being, habit-forming, or maybe the menopause?
  2. Then I create a number of well-being group sessions to ignite the motivation to change!
  3. Last but not least, we add in one2one consultations for your team members to gain real momentum
  4. Add in a scientifically proven method to measure KPIs before and after the program to measure success!
